Casadina Kitchen & Bakery: A Place Like Home

After having such a busy morning with hot bright sunshine and bad traffic, All I need is some comfort. I talk about food, place, and vehicle. For place, you know that the most comfort place is home. But, what about for other two?

For vehicle, I could say that Toyota Agya would be my choice. The spacious interior where I can sits comfortably, the fresh air lever which you can use to change the air inside, and the automatic transmission that can save your leg in Jakarta's traffic, What can not get you a comfort?
And now, about the food, I would like to have nice lunch at homey place just to fix my day. I decided to have lunch at a place not far from where I live, Casadina Kitchen & Bakery.

The dining place was opened not a long time after I started living in Taman Rasuna. But after all this time, I finally came here. This place is located at Tower 17 Taman Rasuna, just a minute walk from the building I live at.

I used to think that this place is just like any other place. I mean, it is located in the middle of Jakarta among the skyscrapers. But, after going there, this place is like an oasis in the middle of Jakarta. It got a home ambiance and the place is so comfortable.

The restaurant has so many windows that made the room full of sunshine. Inside, they use wooden and rattan furniture that add chic touch to restaurant. Outside, there is a pool and so many plants that adds tranquilty.

In my opinion, the place is so reflecting the name and the tagline. Their tagline is house of enjoyable dining. And casadina is from two Italian words, casa means house dina means dine.

At this place, they serve many variety of foods. You can find Italian, Indian, Chinese, Western, and Indonesian foods. For vegetarians, I would recommend this place since they serve vegetarian menu. Not only salads and juices, they also serve vegetarian pizza and pasta.

Since it is a bakery too, they also have so many kind of breads. They have this display shows what they sell here. But, too bad, most of the bread on the rack is just for display. You can not eat that. You need to ask the waiter what they have at the moment.

For this visit, I wanted to have pasta as they use Italian words for their name. So, I thought that they must have some good Italian dish. I picked Penne Polpette.

The dish served in a very interesting look. Three meatballs at the top of the pasta, then onion ring above, and at the top of all those, there is this garlic crackers. The pasta was cooked with pomodoro sauce, mushroom, eggplant, and zuccini.

The pasta was perfectly cooked and mixed well enough with the sauce. For me, the pomodoro sauce has strong taste of tomato That dominated the dish. The meatballs were good and perfectly seasoned, so was the onion ring.

At this place they serve many kinds of beverages too. They also have healthy crashes and slushes. In those beverages, you may find so many healthy stuffs like It is really like home where you can find healthy stuffs for your body.

But I decided to order my most favorite drink, Iced Lychee Tea. The tea is quite different with the ones from other place. Most places substitute sugar with lychee syrup to add the sweet flavor. At Casadina, I think they use sugar since the aroma of the lychee is not that strong.

But still, I could find two lychees in the glass. After all, even though the drink was not like what I expected, it was so refreshing.

Craving for something sweet, I ordered one more dish for dessert, Mud Cake Sunday. The presentation is just so simple. One slice of the cake with strawberry and three drops of chocolate sauce.

The taste for me is fine. Not too sweet nor too bitter. But, the texture is too dry, even the chocolate cream is not that creamy. Not sure why.

The meal was perfect, the beverage and the dessert were good. How about the price?

For the dish and drink that I ordered, I need to pay about Rp 155.000,- (included tax and service charge). The Iced lychee tea cost me Rp 35.000,- (before tax), quite pricey I think. The Penne Palpette was Rp 58.000,- and Mud Cake Sunday was Rp 40.000,- (before tax).

Well, after having lunch here, I guess it was not only the comfort food that i got but also the comfort place. It would be perfect with the perfect vehicle, Toyota Agya.
